This project encompasses a wide range of essential enhancements to the Ellicottville Water System. This project began with improvements to the source wells and booster stations which involved construction/electrical upgrades, and installing emergency standby power systems. Additionally, the telemetry system will be modernized by integrating new controls to monitor and manage operations effectively. Other important aspects include the replacement of two water storage tanks and the replacement of approximately 14,000 linear feet of aging water transmission and distribution mains.

This project involved a complete water system overhaul! Approximately 4,000 feet of D.I. water distribution main were installed; a new water service was implemented; and several well site improvements were made. Groundwater well rehabilitation, construction of a new treatment building, and the installation of new 6” and 16” water main chlorine contact line were all in scope. Our experienced professionals made sure all of this plus more was executed properly.

One solution for removing perfluorononanoic acid (PFNAs) from drinking water is to install activated carbon filters. These filters will absorb natural organic compounds, taste and odor compounds, and synthetic organic chemicals. Our team worked closely with the engineer to ensure this important project was done to specification.

Another E&B Construction Observation Project for the extensive water system improvements for the Village of South Dayton, NY. Scope of which including: thousands of feet of new water distribution main being installed, multiple well sites rehabilitated, a 13’ water tank to be restored and several other water upgrades.

Work under this contract included oversight of a range of well site improvements, encompassing groundwater well rehabilitation, new well construction, and the construction of a new water treatment building, along with associated electrical upgrades. The electrical scope supports these improvements through system enhancements tied to the groundwater wells and the new water treatment facility, ensuring reliable and efficient operation of the overall infrastructure.

This was a fast-tracked, eight-week water main replacement project in the Village of Springville, where E&B Squared assisted with daily construction observation and comprehensive project documentation. Services included documenting all installed infrastructure, such as new water services, valves, hydrants, and water main improvements, while monitoring contractor activities throughout the duration of the project.

This project involved comprehensive site work for a municipal water and sewer system in Andover, New York. The scope included the installation of approximately 5,100 feet of 8-inch water main, 1,500 feet of 6-inch water main, 300 feet of 3-inch water main, and 1,500 feet of 2-inch water main, along with multiple new water service connections. The project also included construction of a new water treatment building, a booster pump station, and various supporting infrastructure improvements to enhance system capacity and reliability.

The Village of Sherman WWTP Improvement Project in Sherman, New York, involved evaluating and upgrading the village’s aging wastewater treatment plant and utility systems. With failing equipment serving a community of approximately 700 residents, the project established a strategic financial and technical plan to modernize treatment processes, improve reliability, and meet regulatory requirements. Upgrades included new headworks, a sequencing batch reactor, improved filtration and disinfection, enhanced sludge handling, and updated electrical and control systems, supported by a coordinated funding strategy to ensure affordability and long-term sustainability.

The Chautauqua Lake Sewer Extension Project was implemented to reduce phosphorus pollution from septic systems and protect lake water quality. The project expanded public sewer infrastructure through the installation of grinder pump systems, allowing residential connections in support of Clean Water Act requirements. This effort helps mitigate harmful algal blooms, improves public health, and preserves the environmental, recreational, and economic value of Chautauqua Lake.

The Mandolin Ridge Subdivision in Chautauqua County was constructed with our team on site to observe the additional sewer expansion work. Our Resident Project Representative (RPR) assisted the engineer as needed by monitoring construction progress and the quality of work.

E&B Squared assisted with and monitored the contractor’s daily operations for this inflow and infiltration reduction project in the North Chautauqua Lake Sewer District.

The Village of Portville Sanitary Sewer System Improvements Project included the rehabilitation and replacement of multiple sanitary sewer manholes and sewer main segments, along with upgrades to the Village’s wastewater treatment facility. Collection system improvements consisted of cured-in-place pipe lining; manhole rehabilitation using cementitious coatings, void patching, joint sealing, and riser installations; replacement of existing sewer mains with PVC pipe; and replacement of existing manholes with precast concrete structures. Improvements at the wastewater treatment facility included installation of a headworks screen, a new influent pump station, a new influent metering vault, and upgrades to the effluent pump station.

The Elizabeth Street project in Ellicottville, NY involved a full-scale rehabilitation of the roadway and infrastructure. Work included the removal and replacement of the underground and surface stormwater system with upgraded piping and drainage structures. The existing road and subbase were fully excavated and rebuilt with engineered gravel and geotextile fabric for improved durability. All sidewalks, curbing, and driveway approaches were replaced, and the project was completed with new asphalt paving, enhancing both the functionality and appearance of the streetscape.

The Chautauqua Avenue Green Street Retrofit Project enhanced Lakewood’s historic village center by creating a streetscape that reflects its identity as a charming waterfront destination while improving stormwater quality to the lake. Designed with input from local business owners, the project incorporated sustainable green infrastructure—such as permeable pavements, stormwater tree trenches, and landscaped areas—to manage runoff and support long-term maintenance. The result is a strengthened sense of place, an improved village core for local businesses, and a model for future municipal stormwater retrofit projects.

The Greater Main Street Storm Sewer Project is a central part of the Village of Sherman’s Comprehensive Stormwater Infrastructure Improvement Program, tackling long-standing flooding and runoff challenges along Main Street and nearby neighborhoods. Launched in 2018, the project includes storm sewer upgrades, dry detention basins, flood bench construction, and runoff capture systems designed to slow, store, and safely convey stormwater away from vulnerable areas.

E&B Squared served in a lead role on this EV charging station project, providing construction administration and overseeing the project from concept through completion. The scope included the drafting and design of an outdated parking lot into a modern, clean site featuring state-of-the-art EV charging infrastructure, utilizing grant funding provided by NYS. E&B successfully secured $217,200 in funding to support the installation of two fast-charging pedestals.

E&B Squared assisted the Village with project planning, conceptual design, grant support, and full construction administration services for a proposed electric vehicle charging station project. E&B Squared also supported the Village in preparing and submitting a NYSDEC grant application through the Grants Gateway, for which the project was eligible for up to 100% funding. As a result, E&B successfully secured $245,184 in funding to support the installation of two fast-charging pedestals.

This Village of Sherman Solar Project was a 9.62 MW, $13 million solar array located on 34 acres in Sherman. The project expanded existing solar panels at the village’s wastewater treatment plant, helping reduce electricity costs for both the facility and the community. The site remained in agricultural use through an agrivoltaic approach that included native seed mixes, grazing, and beekeeping. The project included a PILOT agreement and tax abatements, with lease revenues supporting local infrastructure and future electricity cost savings for residents and businesses.

E&B Squared played a key role in the South Dayton EV charging station project, providing construction administration and project oversight from planning through completion. Our team worked closely with the contractor and coordinated required documentation and compliance with the New York State funding agency. The project included the design and construction of a new parking area developed to support modern EV charging infrastructure, funded through New York State grant programs. E&B successfully secured $209,750 in funding to support the installation of one fast-charging pedestal.

Another project E&B Squared assisted with involved securing New York State funding to deliver new fast-charging EV infrastructure in the Town of Salina. The project converted existing parking spaces into a dedicated EV charging station and included all necessary supporting infrastructure. E&B Squared provided services from initial design through construction and project completion. E&B successfully secured $199,400 in funding to support the installation of two fast-charging pedestals.

The Chautauqua Avenue Green Street Retrofit Project enhanced Lakewood’s historic village center by creating a streetscape that reflects its identity as a charming waterfront destination while improving stormwater quality to the lake. Designed with input from local business owners, the project incorporated sustainable green infrastructure—such as permeable pavements, stormwater tree trenches, and landscaped areas—to manage runoff and support long-term maintenance. The result is a strengthened sense of place, an improved village core for local businesses, and a model for future municipal stormwater retrofit projects.

This full interior and exterior renovation transformed a historically significant 1860s space into a trendy craft beer bar and retail store, complete with a beautiful wrap-around awning and a beer window. E&B Squared provided guidance on every aspect of the project, including design, planning board and historic board approvals, contractor procurement, progress inspections, rough and final inspections, punch-list management, and construction through completion. Another highly recommended spot to grab a beer!

This full interior and exterior renovation transformed an outdated Supercuts into a trendy craft beer bar and retail store, complete with a large outdoor patio and several site upgrades.
